The Last Will &Testament

Ellen

The Last Will and Testament of Ellen Swann (Canine)

June 22, 2009

I, Ellen Swann, (affectionately known as ‘Big E’), because the burden of my years are heavy upon me and I know the end of my life is near, do hereby issue my last will and testament. I do not have an abundance of material things because dogs are wiser than man. They do not spend their days hoarding up worldly things. They live one day at a time, loving their master and knowing tomorrow will take care of itself.

To my best friend, Katie, I leave the following:

My gratitude for her good friendship over the years.

My toys and nylabones.

My beloved kiddy pool, which I hope she will use. So far, she doesn’t like her feet wet.

My nice fleece bed my brother Jeff gave me.

My big water bowl she and I share.

My leather leash

My flexie Lead

My place under the computer where Momma works.

My place beside Daddy’s oxygen machine.

My glutch ball (it’s outside in the dog lot.) I haven’t felt Like playing with it in a while, but it still has some Use.

My butcher bone Momma got me this week. I was too tired to chew on it.

My desire for Katie not to grieve too long for me. That she will enjoy the rest of her life. Katie, you are now ‘The Top Dog.’ Take good care of Momma and Daddy.

To my Momma and Daddy, I leave the following:

My gratitude for loving and taking good care of me. I know, sometimes, it hasn’t been easy. I thank you for adopting a dog with special needs into your life and loving me with all of your heart. You were always there when I needed you and I thank you.

My desire that you not grieve too long for me. I had a great life and only you were the reason.

My desire that you love and take care of my sister, Katie, as you did me and have a wonderful life with her.

To my good vet, Dr. Freeman, I leave the following:

My journal. Perhaps, something will catch his eye in my journal that will help with another of his friends who has seizures.

My gratitude for taking such good care of me over the years.

My gratitude for being with Momma and Daddy at the end.

To my Momma, I leave the following:

My love and devotion. She is my favorite person on earth. I have loved her beyond love itself.

To all who visit my final resting place, I leave the following message:

“Here lies one who loved and was loved!”
