Maggie Goes Grilling

Hello Doggie Lovers……It’s me Maggie!

Ever so often, me and Daddy Earl go to Daddy Earl’s Son’s house for grilling. Man, this is one of my favorite things to do. You see, I just love that grilled food. Yum..Yum.. and more Yum.

When me and Daddy Earl get there, everybody and his brother is on the deck getting ready to partake of this feast. I’ll tell you, my sniffer is going crazy with the aroma of grilled burgers. I pace and visit…pace and visit. Finally, we all sit down around the picnic table. I’m sitting right there thinking I’m going to get a bite. I beg and beg and more beg, but I don’t get a solitary bite.

You know what happens? I have to wait until everybody’s through eating, before I get to eat. I just can’t understand this logic. I do everything I can to change the situation. I beg as much as I can and I really try to put a guilt trip on the relatives by trying to look pitiful, but it just don’t do no good! By the end of the meal, I have run out of patience. I’m worn out with begging and looking pitiful.

But guess what? When everybody has eaten their fill, there are usually some leftovers. Then, it’s Maggie’s turn. Daddy Earl’s son feeds me the leftovers with a fork……can you believe it? Old Maggie eating with a fork. Don’t that beat anything you ever heard of? Ahhhhhh……..the life of Maggie!
