Maggie goes Fishing

Hello Doggie Lovers, It’s me ….Maggie!

One day me and my Daddy Earl and his son, Mike went fishing out on a big lake.

We set out in the boat and motored right on up that lake…fishing along the way. I was in the boat next to my buddy…Daddy Earl, of course. You already know I don’t get too far away from him. We were just relaxing back in that old boat, baking our skin in the sun and catching a few fish. We were pretty close to the bank of the lake so we could catch all the beauty of the woods and all as we moved along.

All of a sudden, I spied a dad-burned squirrel on the bank. He was acting silly running around everywhere….up trees and all. You know how squirrels do. I’m telling you, I was all in a sweat. I just could not stay in that boat. I had to go get that old squirrel. I jumped out of that boat before Daddy Earl could say a thing. I was right smack in the middle of all that water heading for the bank and that squirrel.

All of a sudden, I realized “I couldn’t walk on water.” I’m telling you, I was sure in a fix. I was sinking like a rock. Suddenly, my light bulb went off. I said “Maggie, you better swallow your pride and turn around and head on back to the boat. That’s exactly what I did. Daddy Earl and his son had to drag me back into the boat. I was embarrassed as could be. I looked like a drowned rat.

Phewww…..That was sure a close call. Needless to say, Old Maggie stayed in that boat with her Daddy Earl the rest of the fishing trip.
