My lab, Ellen's, favorite toy is the "Clutch Ball." For several years, she has loved this ball. It stays outside in her dog lot, which is a very large lot with room to run from one end to the other. When she is outside, she carries this ball in her mouth, running from one end of her lot to the other. This toy gives her much happiness. It has what I call handles, which makes it easier for her to carry. It is perfect for play with her sister, Katie too. They run together, holding the ball - one on each side. When company comes, this is the first thing she shows them. She loves for us to throw the ball for her to retrieve. I don't do much of this anymore, since she has arthritis in her back knees. I'm so afraid of injury again.
The clutch ball is very durable too. The ball stays outside during all kinds of weather - winter and summer. I have had to replace it twice over several years because she has finally bitten through and it is not as much fun for her. I would definitely recommend this toy. It comes in three different sizes, which I show below. Ellen has the 8 inch ball. It is a terrific toy!
